Family tradition says that Josef(*1828), first mayor of Tabor, South Dakota, was the nephew of Jan(*1811). This relationship is confirmed in information provided by The State Regional Archive in Prague to Dr. Eugene Wyborney. The text is provided to the site by Leigh Wyborny. The references to Josef(*1828) and Jan(*1811) are capitalized below. Note that different spellings of the surname are used interchangeably.

Dear sir,
Enclosed we are sending you the results of our genealogic survey
which you requested. The data you sent to us was, for the most
part, incorrect. Our survey starts with the
birth record of one (=Frantisek Josef) of the children of
JOSEF VYBORNY and Alzbeta whose
maiden name is Simon, which we were able to find on the basis of your
information (the year of birth is different, however).
This record is located in the three part registry
("tripartite matrika") of
the evangelic parish office (hereafter abbreviated as
"ev.f.u.") of
Krakovany village for the period 1856-1867, No.4,
in the birth records portion, page 15. The most important parts of

the same name, Jan - on Aug 5, 1805, on May 19, 1807 and on Jun 16, 1811.
The first two died however - one on Apr 16, 1806, the second on
May 5, 1810. The third Jan who is probably your ancestor married

Therefore JOSEF VYBORNY the husband of Alzbeta
Simon was not the brother of JAN VYBORNY
(of whom you wrote about as he was born at Libenice in the year 1806)
but his nephew i.e. a son of his brother.

As written above JAN VYBORNY married to Anna
Ruzicka. In personal documents issued to either her or her
descendants for their emigration, the surname was written in the
German form as "Ruzicka" [i.ewithout diacritics]
which was probably transformed by an erroneous reading to
"Ruticka".
